What is Laptop Motherboard?
A laptop motherboard is the electronic circuit board inside a laptop. This is where we connect all the hardware components that we use in the laptop. (e.g: CPU, RAM, Hard Disk, CPU fan, Wifi Card, Graphics Card, Speaker, Camera, Battery, LCD/LED, Addon Card etc). The CPU socket for the CPU, the RAM slot for the RAM, the PCI slot for the PCI card, and the necessary connectors for other devices are on the motherboard.
It houses the electronic components necessary for the motherboard to function properly. (eg. Chipsets, capacitors, resistors, diodes, mosfet, inductors, etc.) When these types of motherboards are repaired, you can simply remove the damaged component and install a new one.
Different company motherboards and types
As mentioned earlier, one method is to fix a faulty component on the motherboard. Some other company motherboards have separate mini-boards that can be attached to the motherboard. These can be divided into two.
1. Single type motherboard
2. Daughter board type motherboard.
In a single type motherboard all connections depend on only one board. But a daughterboard type motherboard has separate boards to work on each specific part. For example the USB, Audio, DC Jack, Graphics Card, Lan Card is separate as shown in the picture. If a fault occurs in these motherboards the fault can be fixed by removing only that particular board and installing a new board.
